Stella is a local artist and poet; you will find her work on display and for sale at the store. She is the daughter of Howard Pixton, a pioneer who gave Britain air supremacy by being the first British winner of the Schneider Trophy Air race in 1914.

Her son Robert Dallas, singer, songwriter, composed Enid Blyton’s ‘Famous 5’ and the ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ musical.

Jurby Books is now being reorganised, with the addition of many more books and extra help. This will hopefully give Stella more time to write, paint and maybe relax a little. The bookshops will be using the internet in the near future and site is under construction.
